The good news: there is a trend or a must-have item for everyone.
From top-to-toe tonal to cool and clever functional fashion, these are the most covetable catwalk looks from the Spring/Summer 19 shows. Ready, set, wear!
Long, dreamy, earthy and sensual, the hand-spun dress is your new summer staple. Saturated in warm desert and sunset hues, it looks just right accessorised with jingly-jangley jewellery, seashells, macramé belts, barely-there sandals and crochet shoulder sacks. There’s nothing ordinary or homemade about this trend - artisanal handiwork has officially gone high-end.

50 Shades of Beige
The Spring/Summer catwalks’ message was clear: “be beige” and just like that, our most basic neutral is sharp, bold, chic and sexy, especially when terrifically tailored and worn monochromatically. Feel beige washes you out? Look for a shade with pink undertones or try styling it back with pops of pretty pastels, high volt neon or strong primary colours.
Spotted at: Burberry, Marni and Max Mara.
What is it you ask? Think accessories cleverly translated into clothing: front-loaded tool belts slung across the body, suped-up cargo pants, patch pockets labelled “Keys”, ‘Coins” and “Phone”, and bags and wallets integrated into garments. This is next level multi-tasking fashion. Who said functional can’t be chic?

Fashion’s obsession with pleats is inexhaustible, and in 2019 we will be just as passionate as ever. This season, pleats are stricter and more complex than before. Say au revoir to box pleats and hello teeny tiny micro versions that provide maximum impact thanks to their scope of movement and ability to expand and contract. We are in love.

Slick summer outerwear with distinctly ‘90s and retro silhouettes is our new must-wear, no matter what the season. Imagined in faux leather, silk, and transparent, layer over everything in your wardrobe for perfect polish. Choose classic beige, black or white, or be fearless and opt for a poppy hue like bright yellow, lipstick red or hot pink. Then hope for rain – because this super chic waterproof is anything but a dampener.
