Sydney food stylist and recipe creator Sian Redgrave on her favourite daily ingredient for health and beauty benefits.

How do you start your day?

I take my two teaspoons of SUPER ELIXIR first thing in the morning because I know my stomach is empty and the greens will be able to be digested on their own, without interference from anything else. I do Reformer Pilates every morning so if I haven't had my greens on waking, I put them in my drink bottle with cold filtered water and sip throughout class. 

I'm generally on-the-run in the morning and also not a big breakfast eater, so I really love injecting as many nutrients as possible into my smoothie. I always start with unsweetened cashew or almond milk because the sweetened versions contain loads of sugar and nasty additives.  I add 2 teaspoons of SUPER ELIXIR Greens, 1 scoop of NOURISHING PLANT PROTEIN Natural Vanilla, a handful of frozen berries (blueberries are my go-to), baby spinach, chia seeds, and a few raw almonds or macadamias. I make sure the milk is really cold and add a little ice because I love my smoothies super cold.

What other ingredients and flavours mesh well with the SUPER ELIXIR?

SUPER ELIXIR has a delicious tropical taste so I love combining it with flavours like vanilla, coconut and lime to enhance and blend with the greens. I find that it works really well in cold desserts like vegan ice cream, icy poles and parfait, as both the flavours and the cold temperature is refreshing and soothing.

During the 30 Day SUPER ELIXIR Challenge, what breakfast recipes can we be swapping out our smoothies for? 

I like to make things like chia seed pudding along with turning smoothies into smoothie bowls. Sitting down and eating a bowl instead of quickly drinking a smoothie is a nice change and also allows you to add a variety of flavour and crunch to the top like granola, fruit and nut butters, which are really delicious.

What liquids do you recommend mixing with the SUPER ELIXIR Greens? 

Everyone loves a little daily diversity, so I think it's really important in our diets to mix things up and feel excited about what we are putting into our bodies.  Sparkling water is my favourite way to change things up a little. It is like having a fizzy drink but without the sugar. All fizz but no guilt!
