Do you have any health regrets?
Before discovering the value of a plant-based diet and before we started our company, WelleCo, my diet was lacking nutrients. Although I thought I was eating well, I realised I was sugar addicted, sleep deprived, dehydrated, and as a result, really stressed inside and out. My diet seemed ok - but lacking in good quality vegetables and good clean plant-based protein. Like many others facing small or large health issues, I discovered the overwhelming effect poor versus complete nutrition can have on the way I feel and look.
What is your secret for a fit body?
I try and take a holistic approach to wellness. When I get enough sleep, exercise, drink 3 litres of water a day, and nourish my body with wholefood plant-based nutrients at a cellular level, it shows on the outside. For this reason, I aim to live every day as clean, green and active as I can.
Why a plant-based diet?
I have found that absorbing plant-based wholefood nutrients is really effective. I saw a dramatic difference very soon after I started taking The SUPER ELIXIR Greens daily. My body felt lighter, cleaner, leaner and I had so much more vitality. I didn’t get sick as often because my immune system is supported, and because I am sleeping properly, I wake up feeling more rested, and my skin has improved dramatically - spotless and glowing. Eating this way has transformed my health and my life.

How much do you exercise and what are your favourite sports?
For me, exercise and fitness are about enjoying sport and being outside as much as I can. It is simple and perfect advice I was given about 5 years ago by my nutritional doctor Dr Simone Laubscher. It has really helped my quality of life and the way I work out. Now I aim to move my body every day for an hour outside - it might be swimming laps, hiking if I’m in the mountains, or walking my dogs. I love yoga, especially Vinyasa flow and even basic yoga. I try to make it to a class 5 days a week or practice outside in the fresh air. A yoga class may only go for an hour, but the benefits last all day.
What do you eat before training?
I exercise in the mornings, so my first drink on waking is hot water and lemon to very gently wake the digestive system and help the detox process begin. Then I add 2 teaspoons of SUPER ELIXIR Greens to 500mL of filtered water. Formulated with 45 unique botanicals, it is absorbed at a cellular level, so it efficiently balances the body and gives my skin a radiant glow. I see it almost like putting cream on my face. Then I have breakfast - a soaked chia seed pudding or raw oats that I make using home-made almond milk with a little green stevia, some ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
What are your relaxation rituals before going to bed?
I love what Arianna Huffington says about the bedroom being an oasis—a beautiful escape from the day. I always keep a good book on my bedside table and a notepad for jotting down ideas. I brew a pot of WelleCo SLEEP WELLE Calming Tea which is formulated with valerian, skullcap and hops to destress and relax, and spritz my pillows with Sleep Welle Calming Mist. The lavender scent really adds to the sense of calm I try to create before bed.

What supplement do you rely on?
The SUPER ELIXIR as part of my daily routine has been transformative for me. My body is now able to absorb all the nutrients it requires for the best health of my life. When formulating the SUPER ELIXIR, our nutritional doctors worked to find the right blend of premium plant-based nutrients that could work together to address acidity in the body, maintain a healthy pH range, and nourish the body right down to the mitochondria. The result is the SUPER ELIXIR Greens formulated with 43 whole food nutrients, that when absorbed at cellular level nourishes all 11 systems of the body. It has with truly transformative effects.
What is always in your refrigerator?
My fridge is always stocked with plenty of organic locally sourced seasonal vegetables and proteins, nut milks, snacks like hummus and tahini, fruit and sprouts that are nutrient-rich. My new luxury is my sprouts dealer. I have one that delivers whichever sprouts he has in abundance, like wheatgrass, pea, broccoli or sunflower, weekly to my house. I love to put soaked almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds in the dehydrator so they are nice and crunchy. It means I get all the deliciousness and health benefits without the need to smoke, roast or fry them. They are a great snack or topping for salads or I add cinnamon and nutmeg and green stevia to make a granola.
Can you share your best anti-ageing secret?
When I was younger, I believed beauty and youth were aligned. Today I’ve come to understand that beauty and wellness are more affiliated. I've learned to appreciate and adjust to all phases of life. Constantly re-evaluating beauty and wellness choices helps me evolve and stay relevant.
At this stage in my life, ageing and beauty is defined by my willingness to be nurturing and caring to myself and others, commitment to whatever I put my heart into, integrity, saying what I mean and meaning what I say, and most importantly, wellness. For me, true beauty radiates from within health and I see wellness glowing on a person’s face.
