An expert’s unique approach to understanding the male libido and how all men can have better sex.

“Low libido is one of the top three concerns that my male clients have,” says Sex Therapist Vanessa Marin. “I've come up with what I call the Five Foundations model of sex drive to describe the major categories that can affect the male libido.”

1. PHYSICAL | Stress, depression, lack of sleep, and hormonal issues.

2. MENTAL | Negative beliefs about sex, sexual hang-ups, and mental distractions.

3. EMOTIONAL | Self-esteem, body image, and the impacts of past sexual experiences.

4. RELATIONAL | Health status of relationship and its dynamics.

5. SENSUAL | Quality of sex and enjoyment level.

“Male libidos can be thrown off by a number of different factors,” Vanessa says. “Most people think that men have stronger libidos or falsely assume that all men have a constantly high sex drive, and this perception can weigh heavily on men who may feel that their libido is lagging behind.

In reality, all men have a differing libido and that is perfectly normal, and every man can improve his libido if he chooses to. In my experience, the bottom line is that if your sex life is important to you, then you'll have to work on maintaining your libido throughout the course of your life by keeping those five foundations in balance.”

Experts say that Maca can help support the libido due to its unique long-chain fatty acids, which is why it is a key ingredient in our Men’s Libido + Endurance Super Booster. It also contains Schisandra to support physical performance and endurance, Horny Goat Weed to assist healthy reproductive hormones and Flower Pollen Extract to support prostate health thanks to its amino acids, minerals, vitamins and carotenoids. Simply take a vial a day, dissolved in ice-cold water, for 7 days and feel the difference.

Vanessa says understanding what you want and need is the first step to an improved libido.

“Think about what your goals are. What kind of sex drive do you want to have? What kind of relationship with sex you want to have?” she says.

“The clearer and more detailed you can be about your goals, the easier it will be to get there. It's also important to recognise that you can transform your relationship with sex in general by working on your libido. We all have hang-ups about sex but working to get past those hang-ups can be incredibly satisfying and rewarding.”
