Elle chats to Travel and Leisure about her must have travel essentials, keeping occupied in-flight and her favourite NYC hotspots.
As a seasoned traveler, what’s the first thing you do when you board a flight?
“The first thing I do when I board a flight is double dose my SUPER ELIXIR Alkalising Formula (pre and post-flight) and drink three liters of water—two tricks Dr. Simone Laubscher taught me for long haul flights. So if I’m coming from London, as soon as I get on the plane, I shake my greens up with ice-cold water, or coconut water. This helps me avoid jet lag because my body has the nutrients it needs, and it also ensures I have that extra boost of hydration."
What are some of your travel essentials?
“I love my Elsa Shaperelli flight bag. It’s perfect as a cabin bag—chic and fun! I have these great little eye masks I bought in Japan, which are basically pieces of fabric soaked in nutrients and moisturizer. I love Dr. Sebagh’s Rose de Vie—and his new product, Supreme Night Secret Cream helps to brighten the skin while you sleep. Travel packets of THE SUPER ELIXIR Alkalising Formula for jet lag are a must, and our plant based Nourishing Protein powder serves for clean meals on the go; hotel food and crazy hours can really throw me off track. I use SLEEP WELLE Calming Mist for my pillow, which has such a beautiful, fresh scent. It uses organic essential oils, like lavender, to help me get to sleep—that will be arriving this month on welleco.com. And I always take my iPad full of books and movies.”
Being on so many film, television, and photo shoot sets, you must be a pro at keeping yourself busy. What do you do to occupy yourself in-flight?
“I always bring a notepad to record ideas. I find it's better to get them down on paper, rather than having them swirl through my head on a long flight. And I’m currently reading Wellth: How I Learned to Build a Life, Not a Resume, by Jason Wacaab. On my last flight, I watched When We Were Kings, Brooklyn, and The Danish Girl.”
