Marine collagen comes from the skin and scales of fish and is almost entirely composed of type one collagen, an essential ingredient for strong ligaments, bones, skin, fascia, muscles and teeth. Use WelleCo’s Collagen Elixir as I’ve done here or add some seasonal organic fruit or vegetable juice of your choice.

 

SERVES: 2

PREP TIME: 5 minutes

 

iINGREDIENTS:

400 ml coconut cream

100 ml coconut water or plain fiitered water

80 g fresh or frozen mixed berries, plus extra to serve (optional)

1 tablespoon sunflower seeds

1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon WelleCo’s Collagen Elixir

 

METHOD:

Place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz until smooth. Serve in tall milkshake glasses or if you’re on the go, in a bottle. Finish with some extra berries if you like.

 

TIPS:

If you prefer a little more sweetness, add stevia to taste.

This smoothie can be made in advance, frozen and then popped in your lunch box to thaw. Just give it a good shake before drinking.
